Service Contracts

Our contracts and service options are built around uptime, hygiene and predictable site visits. Each page covers a specific support service that can stand alone or form part of a maintenance plan.

Service Contracts

Why a service contract suits busy sites

If your shop, farm store or cold room cannot afford surprise breakdowns, a service contract keeps the work scheduled and the history in one place. It helps you plan around trading peaks, staff shifts and load-shedding, instead of waiting for faults to show up at the worst time.

We set contracts around what the site actually needs, not a one-size-fits-all visit. That can include routine inspections, coil cleaning, drain clearing, leak checks and seasonal start-up or shutdown work. For sites in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Malmesbury and the West Coast, the aim is simple: fewer disruptions and clearer follow-up.

Choose the right level of cover

Some clients only need a defined number of planned visits each year. Others want a fuller support plan that includes emergency call-outs, logging and more frequent checks during hot months. The right choice depends on how much stock you hold, how critical the cooling is, and how hard the equipment works each day.

  • Planned Maintenance for fixed visit schedules
  • Emergency Call-Outs for breakdown support
  • Cold Room Servicing for stores, farms and pack areas
  • Aircon Servicing for offices, retail and staff areas
  • Leak Detection when performance drops or gas loss is suspected

If you are not sure which level fits, we can help you compare the risk and the cost over the year. A lighter plan may suit a small office, while a site with perishable stock usually needs closer attention and quicker response times.

What is included in planned maintenance

Planned maintenance is about preventing repeat faults and keeping equipment within working range. We check the parts that commonly cause trouble in the Western Cape climate, including dust build-up, salt air near the coast, blocked drains and dirty coils. Small issues are easier to sort before they turn into warm rooms or failed compressors.

  • Coil cleaning and filter checks
  • Drain clearing and condensate checks
  • Temperature logging and basic performance readings
  • Electrical and operational inspection
  • Seasonal start-up and shutdown preservation

This work is especially useful after winter, before summer demand rises, and before long weekends when sites run harder than usual. It also helps with compliance records where temperature control has to be shown later.

Cold-room care for shops and farms

Cold rooms need a slightly different approach from standard aircon systems. Door seals, panel condition, airflow and product loading all affect how well the room holds temperature. On farms and in retail stores, poor loading practices can cause uneven cooling and unnecessary wear, even when the plant itself is still working.

Our cold-room servicing focuses on practical checks that protect stock and reduce downtime. Where needed, we can also support temperature logging so there is a clear record for managers, auditors or site owners. If a room is used seasonally, shutdown preservation and restart work can save time and reduce avoidable faults later on.

Call-out support when something has already gone wrong

Some issues can wait for a planned visit, but others need immediate attention. A warm fridge, ice build-up, repeated tripping or a failed aircon on a hot day needs prompt assessment. We handle emergency call-outs across Cape Town, Montague Gardens, the Winelands and the West Coast, subject to site access and the urgency of the fault.

When you call, it helps to have the equipment type, the site address, the fault symptoms and any recent work on hand. That lets us prepare the right spares and tools before arrival, which saves time on site and avoids a second trip where possible.

How we manage visits and reporting

Contracts work best when the admin is as clear as the technical work. Charlene Adams coordinates scheduled visits, while the technician assigned to your site keeps the work practical and consistent. That means you get proper handover notes, follow-up on repeat faults, and a record of what was done at each visit.

  • Set visit dates arranged around your operating hours
  • Work notes for each system checked or serviced
  • Priority handling for contract sites where possible
  • Clear feedback if parts, repairs or shutdowns are needed

For businesses that manage multiple rooms or more than one aircon zone, this kind of tracking makes budgeting easier too. You know what has been done, what still needs attention, and what can wait until the next cycle.

Talk to the team about a maintenance plan

Kenny Cape West was founded in 2011 and is based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, with service across the Western Cape. Morne Jacobus van Wyk leads the business, supported by Anele Mbeki, Ruan Smit, Lutho Ndlovu, Charlene Adams and Bianca Petersen. That mix of field experience and admin support helps keep response times steady and records in order.

If you need a contract for refrigeration, aircon or cold-room support, send your site details and the type of equipment you want covered. We can look at a straight maintenance plan, a service and call-out arrangement, or a package that combines both.

Email callouts@kennycapewest.co.za with your location, equipment list and preferred visit times, and we will take it from there.

Questions we get asked

What is the difference between a service contract and a once-off repair?

A service contract covers planned visits and agreed support over time, while a once-off repair deals with a fault after it happens. Contracts are better for sites that need regular checks, temperature records or quicker follow-up.

Can a contract include both refrigeration and aircon?

Yes. Many sites need both, especially shops, offices and farm premises. We can set one plan that covers cold rooms, fridges and aircon units, or separate the work if that suits the site better.

Do you cover the full Western Cape?

We work from Cape Town and Montague Gardens through Stellenbosch, Paarl, Malmesbury and Vredenburg, with service across the wider Western Cape where the schedule allows.
