Who We Look For
We hire people who take pride in getting the job done properly and safely. Our work covers call-out repairs, planned maintenance, cold-room servicing, aircon installs and seasonal start-up work across Cape Town, the Winelands and the West Coast, so we need people who can work neatly, think on their feet and speak clearly with clients.
- Refrigeration technicians for fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Aircon installers and service technicians for homes, shops and offices
- Cold-room specialists for commercial storage and farm sites
- Drivers and assistants who can support site work and parts collection
- Office support for scheduling, quotes, job cards and client updates
The Kind of Work We Do
Our team deals with real site conditions, not textbook ones. That can mean a shop fridge that is losing temperature before trading starts, a cold room with a damaged seal, blocked drains after a busy season, or an aircon system that has packed up during a hot spell. We also do coil cleaning, leak detection, temperature logging, shutdown preservation and maintenance contracts, so attention to detail matters every day.
If you enjoy varied work and do not mind early calls, farm routes or warehouse visits, you will fit in well here. Some days are planned and some are not, and a good hand knows how to stay calm when the weather shifts or the load-shedding comes on unexpectedly.
Skills That Help You Fit In
Formal training is useful, but we also value good habits and a clean work ethic. A technician who labels parts properly and leaves a site tidy saves everyone time later. For support roles, clear communication and accurate record keeping are important because our maintenance contracts depend on follow-through, not guesswork.
- Ability to work safely with tools, refrigerants and electrical equipment
- Good timekeeping and steady communication with clients and the team
- Basic fault finding, servicing and maintenance skills where relevant
- Comfort with site visits in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Malmesbury and nearby areas
- Willingness to learn our systems and keep to client site rules
How We Support The Team
We try to keep things practical and fair. New people are shown how we handle call-outs, paperwork, temperature logs and client handovers so there is less confusion on site. Where training is needed, we expect people to ask questions and apply themselves. Good work gets noticed, and reliable people are trusted with bigger jobs over time.
The work can be physical, especially on cold-room jobs or when moving equipment in tight plant areas, but it is steady work with a clear purpose. If you prefer honest instructions and a team that follows through, you will probably enjoy it here.
Sending Your CV
We do not keep a fixed vacancy list on this page. If you want to be considered for future openings, email your CV to callouts@kennycapewest.co.za and include a short note about the kind of work you are looking for. Please mention your location, your experience with refrigeration or aircon, and whether you are available for call-outs or site travel.
Use your email subject line to say Careers and, if relevant, the role you are best suited for. If you have trade papers, a driver’s licence or references from past site work, include those too. It helps us match the right person to the right job, and saves time for everyone.
- CV in PDF or Word format
- Contact number and suburb or town
- Short summary of your experience
- Copies of certificates, if available
- Availability to start or relocate within the Western Cape
Where You May Work
Most of our work starts from Montague Gardens, but our routes reach Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Malmesbury and Vredenburg, with other Western Cape sites in between. Some jobs are quick service calls and some need more time, such as maintenance contracts, cold-room repairs or shutdown preservation before a busy period. Coastal humidity, farm dust and municipal site access rules all come into play, so practical people tend to do well here.
If you like work that changes from one day to the next and you can keep standards high on the road and on site, this may suit you. We value people who look after equipment, communicate honestly and turn up prepared.
